iAreaNet Awarded
2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year |
iAreaOffice Showcases Mobile Apps, Social Media and Disaster Recovery for 2013
|
iAreaNet's cloud-based, "desktop-in-the-cloud" business communications suite, iAreaOffice, has been selected by TMC as a recipient of the 2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY
Product of the Year, presented by INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine. The
honor comes as the company kicks off 2013 with a slew of new features
for its flagship product and beyond, aimed squarely at helping channel
partners keep pace with their clients' rapidly evolving real-world
business needs.
"iAreaOffice
continues to be a critical addition to any channel partner portfolio,"
said Andrew Campbell, Managing Partner at iAreaNet. "Rapid technology
innovation is pushing VARs and channel partners into a world with
never-before-seen frontiers in terms business requirements. Our
virtualized, 'Internet-area network' approach to enabling business
communications and IT is tailored to address shifting business user
consumption habits."
In
2013, the consumerization of the enterprise is poised to become an
unstoppable wave by any estimation, sped along by the pervasiveness of
smartphones and tablets. In fact, Farpoint Group research shows that 88
percent of enterprises already have some form of sanctioned or
unsanctioned bring-your-own device (BYOD) policy. But what isn't being
adopted as quickly is cohesive BYOD management, designed to secure and
manage the wave of iPhones, iPads, Android devices and other gadgets
that employees are using for work.
iAreaOffice
targets IT management and security concerns around BYOD and mobility in
general with new dedicated apps available in the Apple App Store for
iPad and within Google Play for Android.
"Employees
will want to access their iAreaOffice-based corporate resources with
their smart personal devices whether it's technically 'allowed' or not,"
explained Campbell. "That's the nature of a mobile, often virtual
workforce. Our dedicated apps are specifically designed to address the
critical need for endpoint security as IT consumerization continues
apace, while delivering an intuitive interface for increased
productivity on the go within the mobile office."
iAreaNet
also has added social media management to its Intranet offering,
including the inclusion of a Facebook-style "Wall" section. "This
dovetails with our already popular employee center, so that companies
can create the basis for a truly social corporate environment in 2013,
with concerns about privacy and security addressed," added Campbell.
In
another important theme for 2013, iAreaNet has beefed up its already
robust redundancy profile with the addition of a new switch in Atlanta,
and has added the iAreaNet Disaster Prevention offering to its
portfolio, which provides businesses with a live disaster prevention
solution with no rebuilt time. It can be set up and operational in 24 to
48 hours.
In
the wake of Super Storm Sandy, a bright light has been shone on the
need for a solid disaster recovery program. According to the U.S.
Department of Labor, a full 93 percent of businesses that experience a
disaster go out of business within five years, and 80 percent of all
companies that experience a business interruption of greater than five
days without recovery plans do so as well.
"We
want to ensure that our channel partners and customers have peace of
mind when it comes to business continuity in the face of anything from a
cut cable to a natural disaster," said iAreaNet CEO James deCrescenzo.
"That's why superlative redundancy and reliability, and our new
continuity offering, are key themes for iAreaNet this year."
When
it comes to telephony, iAreaNet has completed an extensive upgrade to
its phone system to improve call management, with features such as Ring
All, a more customizable find me/follow me functionality, as well as an
improved user interface.
iAreaOffice
provides businesses, VARs and agents with a solution that leverages the
benefits of the cloud service delivery model to deliver a best-in-class
IT communications portfolio that can be combined with data and mobile
connectivity. The secure "office-in-the-cloud" suite includes the latest
version of Microsoft Office, which includes Word, Excel, Outlook and
PowerPoint, and can integrate other software to be delivered as a
service, such as QuickBooks, Saga, Amicus, Fireworks or Dreamweaver.
iAreaNet's programmers can also develop and deliver CRM and custom
applications, all hosted on iAreaNet's powerful servers.
"Judging
this year was more difficult than ever, with the breadth of products
being reflective of the continuous evolution of the IP communications
market. These winners have been chosen based on their innovation and
ability to solve real business communications challenges," said Erik Linask, Group Editorial Director of INTERNET TELEPHONY.
The
2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year winners are published in
the February 2013 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine, www.itmag.com.
'The
editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY have verified the selected products
demonstrate quality and innovation plus provide real needs in the
marketplace," stated Rich Tehrani,
CEO, TMC. "These winners have exemplified excellence in IP
communication technologies and I extend my congratulations to all."
Andrew
Campbell, Managing Partner at iAreaNet, will be speaking at the
ChannelVision Expo (CVx), taking place Jan. 30-Feb. 1 in Miami. He will
lend his expertise to a panel discussion entitled "Disaster Recovery to
Disaster Prevention: Changing the Conversation and Driving Sales."

iAreaNet Receives 2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award
iAreaOffice Honored For Delivering Exceptional IP Communications Solutions
|
||
iAreaNet's
cloud-based, "desktop-in-the-cloud" business communications suite,
iAreaOffice, has been selected by TMC as a recipient of the 2012
INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award, presented by INTERNET TELEPHONY
magazine.
The
trend towards the cloud and software-as-a-service (SaaS) continues with
worldwide spending on public IT cloud services projected to be more
than $40 billion this year alone, according to International Data
Corporation (IDC). That is expected to approach $100 billion in 2016,
with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 26.4 percent--five times
that of the IT industry overall. And by the end of the decade, IDC
expects at least 80 percent of the industry's growth, and the
highest-value leverage of IT by enterprises and small- and medium-sized
businesses
(SMBs), will be driven by cloud services.
"For
VARs, a solution like iAreaOffice can be a critical addition to their
portfolio," said James deCrescenzo, CEO, iAreaNet. "SMBs and enterprises
alike are implementing cloud-based delivery models for software as they
look to reduce costs and bolster functionality–indeed, many have a
mandate to do so. VARs can combine iAreaOffice with traditional IT
services like LAN installation and security implementations, for a
holistic solution to meeting market demand and gaining more share of
wallet inside the small/medium enterprise or SMB."
iAreaOffice
provides businesses, VARs and agents with a solution that leverages the
benefits of the cloud service delivery model to deliver a best-in-class
IT communications portfolio that can be combined with data and mobile
connectivity. The secure "office-in-the-cloud" suite includes the latest
version of Microsoft Office, which includes Word, Excel, Outlook and
PowerPoint, and can integrate other software to be delivered as a
service, such as QuickBooks, Saga, Amicus, Fireworks or Dreamweaver.
iAreaNet's programmers can also develop and deliver CRM and custom
applications, all hosted on iAreaNet's powerful servers.
For
IT staff and VARs, iAreaOffice also provides extras like Archive on
Demand, which backs up and restores every file via the cloud. Also,
iAreaNet automatically updates and upgrades to the latest version of a
business' software portfolio, eliminating the costly administrative task
of ongoing maintenance and user standardization. Businesses gain more
control over their communications, mitigating IT headaches like
out-of-policy downloads and software patching.
iAreaNet
will be exhibiting at the CVx ChannelVIsion Expo, Oct. 2-5 in Austin,
Texas, and James deCrescenzo will bring his expertise to a panel
discussion on Public Clouds Vs. Virtual Private Clouds, October 4th
12:30 – 1:15pm.
"ITEXPO
is a critical event for the IT and communications industry, and we are
looking forward to advancing our role as a thought leader in the cloud
communications space," said Andrew Campbell, Managing Partner, iAreaNet.
"There is a sea change happening in IP communications that really
brings to fruition the promise of all-IP services and virtualization.
iAreaNet is proud to be at the forefront of developing and clarifying
the opportunity for business, VARs and Agents."
"The editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY were pleased to grant iAreaNet with
an INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award for its innovation in IP
communications. iAreaOffice has demonstrated outstanding quality and
delivered exceptional solutions for its customers," said Erik Linask,
Group Editorial Director of INTERNET TELEPHONY.
The
2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award winners are published in the
September 2012 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine, www.itmag.com.
"iAreaNet
has been recognized with a 2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award for
proving its dedication and excellence in advancing IP communications,"
stated Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC.
